Great info, thanks for sharing! I bought my wife a new Explorer in January and just got the notice that her free subscription ends in July. I bought my F250 a few months later and I expect to get that expiration letter around August. It would be sweet to be able to take care of all of them at once with a large discount.
I got a letter in the mail with an offer and they stated they wouldn't even give me that price. I hate dealing with sirius. I hung up and called back and the next person gave me a better quote than the offer. Their customer service is as crappys as Dells...
I received offers, like, $20 for 5 months, on the different radios that fell off my old subscription. I also received another offer for 12 months, not as good. I have no desire to call them every 5 months.
The 50% off for the year, was the best I've seen, including the 1st radio.
So, I'm set for now.
I'm sure someone will come up with more savings But, I'm OK with what I received.
I guess Sirrus doesn't love me. My subscription expired in February and I never got any contact from them. No letter, No phone call. They just turned off my radio.
It is interesting that some folks get hounded by Sirrus and folks like me get ignored. Maybe they get some feed back and noticed that I rarely used the feature in my truck when it was active.

I would guess it has more to do with the US Postal service. I have issues all the time with mail. Fortuneately my Sirius mail did come through. I would just give them a call and see if you are registered or not. I think they are an equal opportunity mail solicitor for new revenue.
mine was set to expire in about 2 weeks and they just called me and offered $5.00 per month so I renewed for 6 months to determine whether or not I want to keep it or not.
One month before my Sirius subscription expires, I received two letters in the mail…and then the phone calls started! They called me every single day. Normally I would be pissed off and put a stop to their calling. But they called during my lunch hour everyday and I made it into a game. Here’s how it went, Sirius would call, introduce themselves and give me their BEST price…usually around $328.00 for a year for a package that included everything (The best of XM, all channels, traffic and weather link). I would then ask to speak to their supervisor and get a price around $279.00. The price is different for each state based on local taxes that are charged. Anyway, I would log the call, person’s name and best price for that day in a notebook. After two weeks I go through the routine again and end up with a new supervisor again. She says…”What is the price you want to pay so we can sign you up today?”….I say $179.00 for the entire year….She said OK..and the deal is done! I am like, “What just happened here?”. I said $100.00 less then there best price for the past two weeks and they say, OK! In the end, I am happy with my price, but Sirius as a whole company is a joke.
Just got off the phone with Ray at Sirius. I added the 2011 to the Lifetime Account. Since I have two other radios, I was able to add Travel-Link and Traffic for $49.00 yearly. I do agree that it seems like they are winging the pricing as they go along. All in all not a bad experience.
Let mine expire and was going to play their game. Got a call from them and ended getting it for 5 a month on a 6 month contract. With an auto renewal at the regular price. I have set a reminder to cancel the contrct before expiring and will play their game again. Wanted it for now as leaveing on a hunting trip to wilds of Wy. and Mt.
I love my sirius service and have actually purchased it for others. Will also agree that customer service is spotty and pricing seems very inconsistent. However i dont see how they can stay in business when customers want all the service for no (virtually) money? Just sayin....a worker is worth their hire. The addition of travel link is great, i have used it on several occasions for movies and scores and weather.......as long as it is reasonable i will pay it. If someone approached me and tried to low ball me i would just walk away. Sure many of you would as well. Right?
