has anyone here run a 7.3 in something else ? i got an old bronco frame that i was working on and abandoned 10 years ago and im thinking of powering it with a 7.3 . is there a a/m harness like a painless style ? or has some one here made one ??
I wanna say both Painless and Centech make harnesses for the early Bronco. A few guys have had good luck with the Ron Francis stuff too. Rewiring my 72 has been on my list for some time now.
Check out a few of the Bronco parts houses for the best info on those. Wildhorses4x4, BroncoGraveyard, BCBroncos are all a good place to start.
If you do decide to drop the 7.3 in to that frame, I'd recommend stretching the frame and making it a 4 door. As large as that motor is you won't have much room for a transfer case and will be stuck with a 2wd Bronco.
thanks guys but this is no bronco any more its a bronco frame that i custom put a late model stock car cage on ,a nascar center . a sprint car style frt section and the back is kinda like a stadium truck. this truck will never see the road agian 4 wheeling , mud bogs , and truck motor cross. it will be race and fun only no lights ect.a stop pedal a go pedal and two seats! i have some good axels for now but im thinking of putting the frt end way out at the end of the rails. and running a 7.3 with a two wheel drive trans a short shaft to a transfer case like the paddle tired mud boggers and some rock crawlers are using i know the dana 20 case wont stand up to the power im thinking about.i was building this truck and got bit buy the water bug 10-12 years ago and im thinking about pulling it out and maybe finishing it now but with a 7.3 . so what i need is harness that is for the motor only,i can make it all but i was seeing if i could save some time looking at wire diagrams ect...
