I have an 87 F150 and seem to have excessive floor board heat......any suggestions?

 

What part of of the floor? Passenger or Drivers side? Where's your exhaust routed?

 

excessive heat at the floor usually means that your CAT is clogged and getting cherry red thus heating the cab floor.

It will also choak your motor off (cutting power to the wheels) if the CAT is clogged...

 

is the heat shield still on the truck for the cat ? fix the cat and wrap the exhaust ! put some more insulation on the floor !

 

if the cat is cherry red after driving for a while it needs replaced or cut off. do a decent night drive to heat it up and then check to see if glowing...

 

You know, I noticed this myself too, I'm gonna look into it more now. I can feel heat coming through the floor near the shifter. Almost feels like the heat is on. Might be the exhaust. It kinda smells too, like grease/grime burning, which there is no shortage of underneath my truck
