First, what 4x4 cam ar eyou running. Second, did you read through the whole instruction sheet? Depending on which cam you have and what valve springs, you can only run single valve springs vise the duals at first. Third, do you still have the pedistal mount rockers? If you do check the amount of preload on the lifters. Sounds like you may have to shim the pedistals to reduce the amount of force being pushed on the cam. Hence the broken cam pin.

I feel your pain. I have been through this before, but I run a roller cam setup with close to 800 lb open pressure. I have also ran a .530 lift comp cam in a stock 460 with no other changes and had no trouble. Yours should work fine, too. I would check the fit of your timing gear onto the cam. Are you using a hardened dowel pin? Does the dowel pin fit snug in the holes? Are you tightening the cam bolt tight enough? Are you using a thick washer under the bolt? If the all these things are good, and the cam spins in the cam bearings ok, you might roll the engine over by hand and see if you can tell if there any binding. I always turn over the engine by hand with the plugs out to make sure everything clears. I run two dowel pins on mine, but you should not have to. Hope this helps. Dave
