2003 6 LITER DIESEL.140,000 KM.After acceleration the turbo has a whiny noise...when the throttle is released.I have been told it could be the bushing....Any suggestions???
Put the passenger side window down then shut the truck off while parked, if you hear the whiny sound after the engine stops then this is normal. The 2003 6.0 turbos make more noise then other year turbos. You will also hear a different sound with the hood open during shut down if you listen. Under the hood sound is the internal moving mass coming to a stop, and the exhaust side sound is the compressor wheel blades making the sound.
