Fix for CEL light, please help!

I have been searching but can't find much info for the fix. I am looking for something that I can give to the Tech so he can look it up in the ford system for the official fix for the CEL for the nox sensor. I have a feeling he is going to tell me that they don't have a fix yet but on here there have been tech's that said the fix has been out for a while. thanks in advance, Jason

didn't someone here mention that the fix was within two weeks, this was back in april. My truck still has the light flashing at 33k. I dont' even notice it anymore, nor do I care. Except to say that I'll likely sell it just before warranty expires.

Both TSB's are in the 6.7 Tech folder. It is located at the top of the 6.7 forum home page. Here are the links:

Print these out and demand exact procedure compliance. The re occurrence of the light after a repair is a strong indicator that the tech did not follow procedure.

zedosix...the repair for your NOX sensor issue has been out for 2 months. Take these TSB's to your dealer and tell him to fix the truck...

Good luck

Well I took her in today with all the info and they ended up having to order a NOX sensor. The one thing that I am leary about is that I thought the procedure started with a manual regen but 30 miles down the road I went into regen. Does this mean that he never did it? We will see next week when he can finish the process. I asked the service adviser if he was going thru all the steps and he said that he did and the next step was to replace the sensor. We will see but I hope I'm not wasting some more of my time on this light.

If they did a complete manual regen (and somehow reset the computer if that's needed) I don't understand how you would have an active regen 30 miles later.
Even if you floored it every chance you had.

Well, I got the NOX sensor installed and they said that they re calibrated the nox box. Fifty miles down the road the light is back on!! I even asked them if they followed all the instructions and he reassured me that they did every thing that ford told them to do. So the next day I stop back into the dealership and it did not go very well. I told the guy that I cannot keep coming in here. This is my fifth trip and why can't they just fix it. I asked him if he needs to gat a field tech in to fix it and he said that getting those guys to come in is like an act of congress. He also said that I should call ford customer service and report the problem because I would get further with them.

That is what I did and they were actually pretty good, I will be getting a call in two business days from ford and they will work directly with the tech as he is working on it. After I get off the phone with them I get a call from a higher up at the dealership to explain to me that they had another truck in with the same thing and to be patient because his light went off after a couple of hundred miles. So why wouldn't they tell me this when I picked up the truck? That would have been good info and save some frustration on my part. We will see what happens, I hope it goes out on its own and I won't have to be back at the dealer on friday. What a run around and a waste of my time.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me with this, Jason

I do remember in one of the CEL threads someone reporting that their light came on after the "fix" and then went out again for good afterwards. Keep us posted!

I was the person that had the TSB & NOX sensor replaced and the CEL came back on at 10.6 miles. It then went off at 300 miles. Ultimately I was still having intermittent hesitation/hiccup/stall sensations after this occurred. I took the truck back in and they replace the NOX sensor for the second time stating "we had a bad batch OD sensors"

I have not had the CEL come on again since this last sensor version was installed.

Okay, today I talked to Ford and got everything set up for tomorrow. Ford was getting me a vehicle to drive while they fixed my truck. I asked him how long it might take and he said that maybe a couple of hours or days for the engineers to figure it out. I am impressed how ford has handled this. Some dealers don't give a chit but ford made me feel like they cared. Anyway, I got off the phone with ford and ten min. later I got in my truck to go home and the light was off. Yes, it was off. 450 miles later it turned off. I am so happy that I have my power back. Now that I think about it, this is probably why I will get 65K on my Michelins.

Thanks again to everyone that helped me
Jason
