I've noticed that my truck (2000 F-550) doesn't idle very smoothly, like a light lope to it. It also sounds a little more clattery than most other 7.3's I hear, with one cylinder a little louder than the others. The clatter isn't really cylinder related, it sounds more like a bunch of loose pieces that need tightening up, but the one noisy cylinder sound is always the same.
I searched through 20+ pages and didn't find anything like what I described; is there a common "fix" for this, such as the quarter in the clip I read about? Thanks,
And I know "it's a diesel and is supposed to make noise", and compared to my '02 HO Cummins it's pretty quiet...but my 7.3 just doesn't sound as "tight" as I think it should.
