For those who have run a compression test on your cylinders, did you do the test when the engine was hot or cold?
I am going to replace my valve springs and seals this weekend. I am installing the Comp Cam 910's and .030" shims and using OEM Ford seals. I have a diesel engine compression tester and thought that I would run the compression, for grins, before and after the install. Not really expecting a change. I have built a valve spring compressor tool that bolts to the lower rocker arm pedestal bolt hole. Cory (Ziggy) sent me the head and spring dimensions needed to fabricate the tool. Thanks, Cory! The tool is patterned after the tool that Rotunda makes for Ford. Hopefully, it will do the job fine and get into the tighter confines of the passenger side. I am going to post up pics and document the VS install. Frank (Franko72) will be coming over Saturday to lend a hand in this project. Please rep these guys when you can.
Roland IIRC I read a thread here that said to test while warm. Although I'm sure it will be easier on our hands to check it while the engine is cold...
I got your voicemail late last night, but my phone never rang (stupid smart phone....)
See ya saturday.

I did read the same thing. My thoughts too about working on a warm engine. The Texas heat is bad enough.
Don't feel bad. My phone has done the same thing. I've had to shut it down and reboot to remedy it.

Find all the tricks on doing this Roland, for when we do mine.
It will be. It will be great to see Frank again. We haven't had a chance to meet up since he returned to Texas.
I don't know about tricks, but I kinda have plans on how to do it. If my VS compr tool does its job properly, things will go along smoothly.
Here are pics of the tool (before I painted it; the painted pics would not upload). I know y'all wouldn't believe me without them.
