Hello all, hope this finds you all healthy and happy.
99 Mazda B4000 4X4. 145000. A shout out to whom ever suggested the Sea Foam for the marbles in my engine. Worked like a champ.
Now down to bizzz. I can not for the life of me find a way to snug up my e-brake cable. I can not trust even parking the truck in the drive way with out it being in gear. Measured the cables they seem the be the correct length. Can't take the slack up by adjusting the rear shoes. Not a real big deal except my daughter drives it.

try replacing the middle cables. they are the easiest and will most likely solve your issue
There is a front adjuster on the parking brake cable. It is located on the outside of the frame on the driver's side of the truck about where the front rear spring mount is located. You can tighten the cable by turning the nut - it may take some solvent, such as PB Blaster to loosen up the nut.

I am pretty sure on his 1999 there is no adjustment. The middle cables are the easiest to replace and should solve the issue if he replaces it. the cable that goes into the cab is a pain the first time you do it. the one going into the drum is easy also, but you have to pull the wheel and the drum....
you buy the correct cable for what size cab you have. then you make sure the ebrake is released all the way. You might even have to hold it up. Then have another person pull on the cable. pull toward the back of the truck. if the ebrake is not released all the way you will not be able to pull the cable. after you pull the cable so there is slack you can stick a nail or screwdriver into a small hole on the ebrake mechanism. there should be a small ford insignia next to the small hole. this will hold the slack in the cable so you can unhook the 2 ends of the cable and slide in the new one. piece of cake but it is a 2 man job. The screwdriver is in the hole and you try and catch another holle in the back of the mechanism. then it stays in place
