Hi Fred,
I have the same question - We are putting an Explorer rear end in my 1950 F1 - You get rear discs & the 8.8 axle & decent gearing - It also comes with the Explorer rear suspension which includes the 3 link. I'm not real sure how it will ride or carry loads in the bed - I'll keep you posted - probably a couple of months out from having the truck back on the road.
It's kind of an odd looking contraption.
