6.0 Tech. question

I am new to the site and am sure my question has been asked before. I traded my 09 F350 powerstroke that I absolutely loved (about 3 months ago)for a 07 F250 King Ranch due to slowing Buisness. I felt like I examined the truck top to bottom. Well about a two weeks ago noticed there was some residue on the degass bottle, so I researched and came to the conclusion that I should replace the oil cooler, egr delete, and coolant filter. I ordered all off ebay tonight. Should I replace the head gaskets while I'm knee deep? If the head gaskets are ok, will the planned upgrades and repairs limit the chances of blowing the head gaskets. Is the main reason they blow due to clogged oil coolers and egr coolers? Any advice and information would be greatly appreciated.
