AC blows out the floor once in a while

My AC system once in a while switches from blowing out the vents to out the floor. Does this mean it is time to replace the vacumn actuator working the vents or could it be something else. When i look under the dash i see the acuator but it looks fine. Usally happens when im driving so i cant get right down and see it. Anyone else have had tis problem.

pop the hood, and look at the evep box. there is an actuator there with a white vacuum hose. this hose becomes brittle, and even though it don't look bad,it is. you have to open the harness a bit, and follow the white hose until it's not brittle anymore, usually about 2". cut it off, and use a piece of rubber line that fits tight on it. run the rubber line up to the actuator. Your a/c will now work properly, and you fixed a vacuum leak, so you will now get better gas mileage
