Question Tach problems??

Howdy,

Lately the tach on my 93 F250 has been acting up.
Today I statrted it up and it read about 200 rpm,
the engine sounded good but it was shaking the truck.
About a mile down the road the tach started reading correctly again. Before that a couple of times while going down the road the tach started to slowly fall too about 200 rpm and then pop right back were it should be.
Also I have been having trouble with the oil gauge, sometimes it reads correctly and other times it barely reads. The engine sounds good when its reading low. I replaced the oil pressure sensor and it started reading correctly, but about three weeks later it started doing it again. I have hooked up a mechanical gauge and the oil pressure is good.
Any ideas out there??

Thanks,
Gr8ride

Tach problems??

it could be the plug that runs thru the firewall having a bad connection or more than likely a goofy ground to cause so many things to be happening at once. I believe there is a ground up behind the radio, that caused me problems once. If you can find a manual for the truck, take a look for the main ground circuits and check them out. Sorry I cant point to one in particular for you.
