I'm going to disassemble, clean up and paint the leaf springs on my '66 f250 2wd.
Does anyone know where I can buy replacement clamps/hardware for them (the clamps that hold the leafs together on the outer ends).
Also, I don't see any rubber pads between the leafs. Prior to re-assembly, do I need to spray the leafs with some sort of teflon spray or something? If so, what is this stuff called and where can I get it?
I got my clamps and pads at Nashville Spring Service. I would think most local spring shops would have these. I also got new U-bolts there as they custom made them using the originals for sizing.
While appart, I sand-blasted my leafs using a small siphon type blaster and then painted with Dupli-color's cast-coat iron color. They look brand new.
