I think it may be the connection too, Jim. Does the post 97 7.3 have them too? If so, will it work? I am thinking of a junkyard run w/wire clippers. What do you all think?

I thought an IPR would be a diferent code. Is that not always true?
The Code points to the ICP sensor Or wiring for sure, .I have only read about it , but a sticky IPR can smooth out when ICP is unplugged (Diesel mans page )
Update.
I drove about 7 miles to my buddies house this morning with the ICP still unplugged, no problem.
I connected the ICP again and drove another 55 miles or so with firewood, with no problems.
I switched tanks on the way home and about 2 miles later it started to act up again. I switched back to the front tank and it INSTANTLY straightended out, COINCIDENCE????....I mean INSTANTLY! If it was fuel related I wouldn't think it would throw that code?
I still have it plugged in and on the front tank with no problems at the moment.
Any thoughts?
I was leaning towards that too, Nate. But would that throw a 1280 code?
When I switched tanks the result was INSTANTLY, I mean down to the micro-second....I think it may have been coinicedence, I dunno.
I think what I am going to do is find a new ICP harness (connecter with about 6" of wire) and rebuild the IPR. Can anyone lead me to a good parts/rebuild link? When I start this project in about 2 weeks, I will start a new thread.
Thanks!
