i have a 1979 ford F250 lariat wiyh a 460, it has a holley which i think is stock. the problem i am having is it starts and warms up fine, the minuye you hiyt the throttle and release it the engine will idle rough and then die, it will run fine if you give it gas or drive down the road, on the choke area theres a green lever thet when you hit the throttle it changes position and thats when it will not idle, if you pull this back to the position it will idle. i am a motorcycle mechanic 35 years and don,t have a clue what to do to this truck. Now i know how auto mechanics used to feel when they would bring there motorcycle to me lol
The fast idle and the regular idle are two seperate from each other. Make sure the idle is set correctly, even if it isn't; it will run fine when the fast idle is engaged.
