Adding lights to a new tank switch??
I have a 1990 F150 which had a Selector Tank for Duel tanks go out. I'm replacing the switch with and On-Off-On switch (12V/35Amps) from radio shack.
I had the follwoing idea: Add some LEDs in Gauge circuits to identify which position the switch in in, see below.
Will this affect the gage's acuraccy? Don't the gauges run off resistance in the circuit? Any Ideas?

Besides maybe throwing the guage reading off, the LED would get brighter or dimmer depending on how much gas was in the tank. How many poles are on the switch you are buying? And how many poles do you need to run the original guage circuit?
A double pole, double throw switch will have 6 lugs to connect the wires.
A single pole double throw switch will have 3 lugs to connect the wires.
If you only need a 3 lug switch, you could buy a 6 lug switch and use the other set for the LED's without affecting the guage.
