I'm wanting to see your aftermarket gauges and where their mounted. I'm needing some ideas. I got a pod that holds (3) 2" gauges that sits on the dash. I'm changing my mind in fear of ruinning my dash pad. Thanks Ryan.
I'm almost positive there is another thread on this, but I'll post mine again anyway. LOL Mine are under the center of the dash.
This is actually a pic of my old gauges, but the new ones are in the same spot.
This is the new gauges.
Anything custom about it? Just trying not to go with the gauges in a tri-bezel setup. I have seen the custom bezels where the stock ones are. I'm looking for a location for the alt, oil, and tach.
Oh, nothing custom about them, but I have my tach mounted in the corner of the windshield on top of the dash (i don't have a dash pad) and my vacuum gauge used to be mounted in the drivers side A/C vent.
Love the vacuum gauge! That's what I had in mind! The threads I've seen were sweet custom gauge clusters. They look awesome but, I want to keep the factory ones. I have seen gauges inserted in the dash to the left of the glovebox. As good as that looked I don't want to cut up my dash. I'm thinking I might cut the opening where the vent is above the lights and put a black plastic plate on it. Then drill out for the gauges.
Thanks for the pics! That's another idea but mine is 4x4 with a 4 speed. Nice truck by the way. On your plate were the radio goes, did you use plastic or metal? Also, how did you attach it?
It's a Plastic that we use at work called Gravelply I used a 2d c&c machine to cut the shape out. (notice the other one I had when there was no gauges in the radio opening) It is held on by 3M foreman's tape
Thanks for the tips guys! I think I'm going to cut out above the light and wiper switch. Mine doesn't have the vents (non a/c). Then I'll use a plastic piece and mount the gauges. Thanks for the help!
Ive got a tach and vacuum gauge that I need to mount but I really have no idea where to put them. I was thinking of putting them just below the dash pad near the windshield but I cant get a screw in there.
