Having issues with the f350 today. Was idling and started to sputter, and surge when I was driving, almost like running out of fuel;, just more violent. Has anyone ever had this? I did the 50cent mod a year ago, so I dont think its that, just clueless, I need my truck
When those start to go out sometimes you'll be driving it you'll experience what feels like/seems like sputtering, misfiring, stalling and the truck will keep running. Don't have a pic, but the CPS is on the front of the engine block about halfway down. Pretty cheap fix if that's your trouble.
Hmm, doesn't really sound like any CPS failure that I've had or seen first-hand, BUT it is a cheap fix and if you dont already have a spare in your glovebox you should get one. Do you know if the truck has had the CPS recall done on it?
Idk, that's how mine acted when the CPS started going. Did that for a couple days then would stall out at idle and turn over and over w/o firing. Then would eventually fire and be ok for a day or so. Definitely a cheap fix if that's the prob. Wish they'd done the recall before I replaced mine way back when, lol.
OK, today went to Intl and got the Dark Blue CPS, and installed, still no change. Now I am thinking about the ICP. I read in another forumn that you can unplug it and see how it runs. Well I unplugged it andwent to start it, and no start, I then plugged it back in and started it and then unplugged while running, and it immediately cut off. The plug is also full of oil. HELP I hope someone has had this problem, I dont have the money to keep throwing at it. I have AE (really dont know how to use it ) but here is what I got before the CPS change
Bat Voltage-14.36
Oil Temp-146.75
Exhaust BP 15.26
Fuel Injector Pulse Width 2.16
MAP-14.4
Cyl 1-.7
2-.0
3-2.1
4-.7
5-.0
6-.0
7-.0
8-6.3
KOEO -0faults
KOER-P0476
KOER Cyl. Contribution-P0284
If your ICP has oil in it then it's going to need to be replaced eventually, however it appears to be working at the moment.
How does your truck run at idle? Is it becoming hard to start?
With AE, look up Injector Control Pressure and Injector Control Duty Cycle while the engine is idling and report back.

Reps to Ken if I could for posting that stuff online.
