Help: Need frame interchange info

I am looking for a 92 to 96 V8 F150/250 extended cab with short bed with a good cab. Running gear can be rough.

The reason I am looking for this is really to get the frame, and secondarily for the cab.

My question is: Does anyone know if the frame I want (extended (club) cab with short bed) is specific for this setup, or is the same frame used in a different setup, such as standard cab, long bed, etc???

Also, is the 92 to 96 frame any different from an earlier frame of the same setup?

Thanks all you frame guys!

The frame is specific to the cab & bed combination, and to an F-150. 1/2 tons had the accordion frame horns and trucks over 8500# GVWR didn't until later. You might be able to use a frame as old as '91, but I doubt the '92 bumper would bolt on to it.

Thank you very much for the info.
I figured there waa a slight cooincidental chance the same frame matched up with something completely different, say an Econoline or something.

Thanks again,

The accordian like frames did not start in the 1/2 tons untill 92. It was only designed for safety reasons during a crash. The accordian frame will give while the old style wont. If you go with a frame earlier than that, you may run into problems relocating various body parts. The bumpers should be similar enough to interchange fairly easily enough. I have heard of people putting 92-96 clips on 97-91 trucks so it is possible vis versa. I would be more worried about everything else matching up.

I had put a 95 cab on an 80 frame.
The cab mounts are the same only the bumper mounts are different.
