Quick Connect O Ring Spewing Fuel
I put a brand new (reman) engine from Ford in this truck last February, and it has been running great since. I have about 4000 miles on it now.
On Saturday, my fuel pressure line started spewing fuel out of the quick connect fitting at the fuel rail.
The autoparts store says they cannot get me new O-Rings, and the Ford Dealer quoted me $180 for a new fuel line.
The o-rings on the quick connect fitting are two different colors. One is blue, one is black. I am assuming they are not your standard o-ring because they are immersed in fuel under pressure. So, does anyone have a source, or a part number for the fuel line orings?
Nobody I have spoken with seems to know what I am talking about, and I cannot imagine I am the only one who has ever had this happen before. Maybe I am overanalyzing this problem... Or, I have asperger and people can't understand what I am saying...
OReily Auto has a replacement conenctor on their website but it does not have the blue oring on it. All I need is the oring, I don't want to cut my fuel line to replace the fitting either.
Do I have to get the all new fuel lines or is there another solution? Thanks in advance.
