Trailer brake wiring problem
I have a 2000 Ford F350 with a dealer installed trailer brake unit. It will only operate the trailer brakes when you manually activate them from the brake unit lever. They will not activate by applying the brake pedal. I have checked the connections and swapped out the unit. The dealer says it tests fine, but can check it while moving - to test by brake pedal. I also could not find any blown fuses. Any ideas???

Did you get any paper work with the unit? I bought an aftermarket one, and I remember having to strip the insulation on the wire going to the brake pedal switch, and tie in a small wire to brake box that told the unit the brake pedal was being pushed.
