Front Axle

Allright im stuck what trucks i mean from 99 to 03 came with the dana 60 front end. and does anyone know if the dana 55 and dana 60 have the same housings any info will help thanks

the 99 to 03 have a Dana 60 up front.

i got a axle of a 02 f250 powerstroke and it has the dana 50 or 55 under it thats why im interested and im wondering if the housings are the same if so i will just put all dana 60 guts inside thanks again

Double check that its a 50 or 55. unless someone swapped it in, it will be either a Dana 60 (Front) or Sterling 10.5" rear.

However, more to your question, I believe the difference between 50 and 60 is the housing size to allow for more fluid, and that the internals are mostly the same. I have seen threads about that before. Do a search for it, but use google.

The 99-01 models had the Dana 50 front axle. They switched to the 60 in 2002.

The 60 guts won't fit in a 50 housing.

I just rebuilt my 02 last week.. I was asking the same thing 50 or 60. found out its a 60. they changed in 02 to 60's...

allright reall good to know thanks for all the help again looks like i need to find an 02 or 03
O does anyone know if the axles out of 04 or newer will mount under are trucks just thinking thanks
