thx in advance for any advice ya'll can share

Saying things like that will turn the techs on this site away from helping you.
It's kinda disrespectful to what they do for a living to support themselves and their families.
tyler... i mean no offense to the techs who work for a living and know their job and can do their job, but i'm sure that everyone would agree at some point that the dealerships hang people out to dry . atleast a couple of them around my area seem that way and it kinda pisses u off a bit. not trying to be disresepectful to anyone! i too work my butt off for what little i have! and it's irritating to take to dealership a. and they can't figure it out and want your authorization for more diagnostic time /charge u accordingly and they still supposedly can't figure it out. then take to dealership b. and they figure out the problem within the alotted time "they" set for diagnostics. i hope u can see it from my point of view.
if oil cooler was never replaced and the egr has failed already then im going with failed oil cooler or atleast going south. could be a sensor but doubt it
you cant go off his numbers Im not saying your wrong
The truck should NOT have a SPREAD ect vs eot after COLD SOAK first thing in the morning
can you pull up IAT and TFT and see what those are in the morning
look in the coolant bottle for oil and keep an eye on it till you get it figured out
EOT,ECT,TFT all should be within a degree or two after cold soak
IAT should be close but can be off a little because its not a fluid
my ECT and EOT were within 1.5 degree this morning according to SGII
If you had egr cooler failure and they didnt replace the oil cooler at the same time the new EGR cooler will fail
egr cooler fail;ure is usually caused by a plugged oil cooler its a cascade of failure
unfortunatley i cannot check iat and tft at the moment. the scanner i was using was needed by it's owner. going to order either edge insight or auto enginuity this weekend. soo far everything is still good. no oil in coolant, no coolant level change, and truck seems to be running the same. thanks to all who posted to try and help me figure this out. i will post an update when i get one or the other above mentioned installed.
