well my truck died on Saturday, had it towed to my local Ford dealer. They diagnosed that it was a short in the Electronic Engine Control Mudule Circuit, they further looked into and found the wiring too the Radio Capacitor was frayed and shorting out, so the replaced the Capacitor($16) and all is fine. My question is: what the hell does this thing do? its only got one wire too it. And, where is it on the truck, i cant find it, they gave me the old one so i even know what it looks like.

It suppresses the buzzing noise you would get in your radio from the ignition system. It only has one wire because the other side of it is grounded by the bracket it's bolted to. It should be right next to/under the coil, which is on top of the engine towards the back on the drivers side. Or, just follow the coil (center) wire off the distributor cap to find the coil.
