That trucks looks to be in great condition and very complete. You have the perfect project other than the fact that you may have trouble figuring out what goes exactly where in some cases.
That is one of the best stories I've heard.... Congrad to you, your wife and the rest of the family... You saved part of the history of the family! GREAT JOB! Luv to follow the rebuild of the truck.
Alright. Here is phase #1 of the stupid questions I'll have.
So, once I get this truck in my small garage, I want to work on removing the rust from the body. Am I going to grind this off or sand this off? I've got a air compressor already, so I wanna buy me tool. Any suggestions on a good tool too?
Air tools; die grinder, reciprocating saw, DA (dual action) sander, ratchet & impact gun... Are great tools to start with... be careful when using tools on your body, if it heats up the metal to much it can warp the metal...

Thanks Moe. I've put those on the list now. With you seeing those pics of the truck, how would you go about getting that rust off the body? Thanks for your reply.

Pics are hard to work from... And there is a lot of people here that have more experence then I do on these trucks... But I would start with a DA with not knowing your experence with tools... I would like to say using a finer sand paper (something like a 800 grit)... knocking off the surface rust on the flatter areas... hand sand around tight corners... Some people like to use Vinegar and water in a spray bottle to and Steel Wool to wash some of the other rust... even where you sanded it... See if someone else that has more knowledge then I have chime in.... Keep posting pics, well love to see the transformations that happen to these trucks...
