'86 6.9
I have an '88 f 350/460 as a tow vehicle. I'm looking at an '86 car carrier with 6.9 diesel with 135k. Don't know much about diesels. I've always relied on gas big block power. Is this a dependable motor? Parts available? Am I looking at problems down the road? Thanks

Will it outran your 460 not a chance, will it start everyday and give you reliable service for 400,000mi, probably, About every 100k it will or should have a pump and injectors looked into.
