As odd as it sounds, Coke and tin foil. And hey, my wife is from Mt. Sterling, KY. It is beautiful country you have up there.

Use steel wool for light surface rust. Trust me, it works... it also removes that hazy dirt/grime. After that, apply a chrome polish to provide some protection. Personally, I use Wenol in the red tube.

I`ve used never dull. It makes the pinhole go almost the whole way away. The thing is it comes back in about a month. You might be able to polish it so you dont see the rust like everyone has said and then spray some clearcoat over it. Good luck but the best bet if you want a shiny bumper for a nice truck is to buy a new one and really layer up the back with primer/bedliner so it does not rust. Good Luck

I have personally used the 0000 steel wool. Works even better with gun oil or other real thin oil. can put some shellac or other clear coat to prevent further rust. NeverDull works well too, but clean it well after or you get haze.

Using bedliner on the back is OK to prevent rust but mud and dirt will tend to hang on more because of its rough surface... it is after all intended to have grip. I primed and coated the backside of the bumpers with a gloss paint (black) because smooth and slick finishes have less surface tension and less mechanical grip. Blasting it with a jet of water easily dislodges the built-up crud.

I find the Magic Eraser sponge works great on all kinds of things including rust on chrome. I use it on my chrome all the time to get the grime off.
