FICM Problem Solved

After the FICM on my 2004 F250 6.0 4x4 crewcab went belly up for the 3rd time with less than 46,000 miles on the truck I gave up. Fairview Ford in San Bernardino, CA warranted the first replacement that I paid for at an independent shop after the first replacement had been in service for about 4,000 miles and 7 months. The FICM failed again 3,000 miles later and Ford would not warrantee it because it was 13 months to the day after the initial replacement. So much for "Quality is Job One". I had a local low voltage tech resolder the circuit board in the FICM and got the truck running so it could be sold to a wholesaler. And Ford got me once last time, when I was cleaning out the truck I discovered that someone helped themselves to the spare change I kept in the ashtray. I was a loyal Ford owner for over 45 years but this experience with the 6.0 has ended all that.

does anyone else use the truck

I dont think a ford tech would risk his/her job for some change in the ashtray $20$ at best case senerio

anythings possible I guess
people have died for less than that

sorrey about all bad luck

I'm the only one who uses the truck. I was at the dealer when the truck was loaded onto the flatbed tow to take it to my house and there when it was unloaded. I'm not saying it was a tech - it could have been almost anyone that had access to the service area of the dealer but it certainly occurred at the dealer.
