Whats the difference???

In 02 they changed the front axle in the superduties from a dana 50 to a dana 60. Im not too sure...what are the differences in these axles? I realize one is plain tougher, but why? thanks

The 60 has a larger ring gear, larger carrier, and larger axles and u joints.

Yeah another Oregonian, just down the highway from you.

The 50 and the 60 in the Super Duties both use unit bearing hubs.
