7.3 idi starts great cold once hot will not start

I have a 1994 7.3 idi no Turbo with 33,000 miles. when cold it will start in less that 7 seconds but after running the truck and shutting it off it will not start until it cools down a good bit. runs good and idles fine when hot no check engine. new fuel filter and glow plugs. idk why it starts great cold but will not start when hot u can crank it all day. also the speed its cranking is normal speed when hot so its not the starter

Had the same problem with my old truck. It's air somewhere bleeding off fuel more than likely. At least that's what was happening with mine.

Hope this helps

Do they have a high pressure oil pump like the 6.0s?

We had one at work that would run great all day long, as long as you didn't shut it off, If you did you would have to let it cool down so the oil was thick enough. because the high pressure oil pump was gettting weak , and the computer wouldn't let it start when warm.

on big trucks, this is actually an ecu problem sometimes. i don't have a lot of experience with international engines or smaller diesels, so that's just my 2 cents.
