I wanted to wait to see if my quick fix would hold up over time before I posted it. It's been about a year since I did it, so I figure it may help someone out.
I went to the parts store to see about replacing the worn out plastic door strikers on my '96. They only sold the whole striker assembly and all I wanted was the plastic piece that was worn. Being a resourceful (cheap) Ford owner, I figured I could go to one of the big box stores and get some PVC, cut it to fit, and save some money.
It has held up rather well, as this is my daily driver, so I figured I'd post the results. Now i just need to find something to do with the other 14 3/4 feet of 1/2" PVC since I paid $1.50 for a 15' piece!
