Question Question about new to me 7.3 ps

Hey guys I have a couple of question about my new to me 99 7.3 ps. The truck is a 99 F250 crew cab, 165000 miles and is stock as far as I know. It seems to run fine to me but I have never owned one of these trucks. I read a post in one of the forums about a guy who could not power brake his truck. Now, I'm 40 years old and I don't do alot of.."powerbraking" but I tried it just to see. (something about tossing good money on tires down the drain) I held the brake and ran the rpm up to about 2300 the turbo was whistling but no tires spining. I was wondering is this normal for a 2 wheel drive diesel. the axel code says its a 3.73 limited slip, I've also noticed that I don't see the dark smoke like other diesels in fact I 've never seen any smoke. Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. thanks

That is all perfectly normal for a stock truck, if stock is smoking, something is WRONG. Power braking a stock truck is not likely to succeed, straight out of the factory, no worries.

I agree with the others. that sounds normal for a stock truck. if you really want to do it, hold the brake, mash the gas and hold it for a while, then get out of the gas and back into it quick, then it should spin the tires.
