Sounds like they forgot to plug your temp sensor back in. It's on this picture just under the word "copper" at the very bottom in picture 2. 2005 Update Page 01 Running Updates

It's also #4 in this picture: http://dan.prxy.org/Truck/6L_bible_h.../Page_009.html

Cool bottom hose is normal, hot top hose is normal.the reason the bottoms cool is the t-stat holds the water in the rad, once the t-stat opens you get the cool water from the rad through the bottom hoseto the engine,t-stat closes, and the cycle starts all over again.check to make sure you plugged the sensor back in.its by the t-stat housing if I'm not mistaken

just today, when it was first started the temp hand went all the way to the top,and then it just fell all the way to the bottom, and thats what it has been doing, also the truck doesnt seem as peppy.

I know when my batterys been unhooked the first start the gauges will all go all the way up and then fall back down

also sounds like you have an exhaust leak to the turbo thats usualy the lack of power after this kinda work

start real fast and feel around ypipe and up pipes for exhaust leaks

Interesting. Still sounds like wiring to me. Check your harness carefully for pinching/chaffing. Also, is your EGR valve plugged in? The truck not running as well is probably a defuel condition due to the check coolant light.

doesnt seem to be any leaks..the egr hole is blocked off with a plate, but then was laid on the intake and plugged back up.

Did you unplug it and check the terminals and plug? See if unplugging the sensor has any different affect on the gauge.

Also, while you're in that area, check the fan plug wires same area just above the fan on the shroud.
