So I purchased this for a great deal and have not had to do much work other than a differential seal. The steering feels kinda loose but i do not see any worn parts there are only 60000 miles on the van most of the seal issues were from dryrot from sitting. I also noticed some bounce in the rear end when my wife picked me up from the airport a month ago and i sat in the back with the boys. I'm guessing shocks front and rear to solve the bounce issues. Any idea on the steering, if i have to change the struts and get the alignment with GE Unions threatening strike i want to get an alignment once and save money should I change anything else or look at anything else for the steering? Thanks guys for your help love this forum.
Well, on the shocks, the rear ones are almost impossible to do. Not sure what you are talking about on struts as the fronts are shocks and not struts.
I got mine at 80k and have always noticed the steering a little more loose than my other E-150's or my Caravan, but it has never gotten worse and I've gotten used to it.
Possibly the tie rod ends or drag links are needing replacement. That would show up in an alignment.
