Bed Extender question

I couldn't find any definite answer on search mode.

I have a bed extender for 2002 Supercrew that I took off after purchasing the fiberglass cap on bed. Been in storage over the years.

Wondering if this 01-03 bed extender will fit on 04-08 generation bed?

IIRC the 04-08 bed opening is just slightly wider than the previous model. I guess the only real way is to throw it up on the new truck and see how it measures up.

the 04-08 is wider. it will not fit. not without modification
