I just got around to watching the remake of True Grit. I believe the Duke was done proud. The movie was well done and the dialogue was nearly the same. A couple things were different from the John Wayne version.
I just watched it (literally, a few minutes ago). It was close enough to the original to please the die hards, yet just different enough to... well, please the die hard Duke loyalists.
Anyone else find it ironic that the part of Ned Pepper was played by Barry Pepper?
haven't had the chance to yet , but got told by my buddy glen it , unlike so many of the poor remakes made today , is well worth seeing so it's on the list per se . what i have seen of it really appeals to me , in the previews ................
I wasn't going to watch the re-make because I didn't think the original could be improved upon. But it is a great movie in it's own right. I believe it is closer to the book than the Duke's version was.
