Tailgate hinge lube
What kind of lube do you guys use for the tailgate hinge cups with the plastic inserts? My 1996 owners manual says multi-purpose lube(wd-40?) or the ford spec equal.
Seems like a dumb question, but I just bought the plastic inserts from the dealer, and don't want to trash them.

Well, to tell the truth I never knew we were supposed to lube them.. Mine have not been lubed since it was new in'97, and are in perfect shape, I would hate to put oil or something in there to catch and hold dust and dirt...
I guess if I "were" going to lube them it would be something like dry lube (like used on locks)
