pretty basic, put a piece of cardboard by your radiator to protect it. Check your belt and idler pulleys while its apart. Don't forget a new tstat. I did, had to go back to the parts store to get one. Make sure the tstat housing is nice and flat when you install. When putting the water pump on, dab a little silicone in a few places to hold the oring gasket on.

Can't think of anything else off my head..

Make sure to either get the new T-stat with a integrated gasket from Ford or get the thick O-ring from Ford. The skinny one from part stores will leak.

If you pull the block plugs too you won't get water spilling when you pull the pump.

If you have the single pulley tensioner you might want to upgrade to the double pulley one. I think that may mean you also have to put on a longer belt.

The heater hose fitting (pipe) that goes into the water pump has an o-ring on it, at least on my 97. It was pretty much trashed so had to find another one. I pick up one from Ace Hardware and still leak free for 3 plus years.

Since you have a 95 you probably need the short stem thermostat. Make sure you take it with you when you purchase one or at least make sure it is the same length as the original. Long stem stat would not fit anyway unless someone upgraded to the Ford water pump in the past.

Overall not a bad install, just take your time and do it right the first time. The neck is a PIA and I tried 2 different ones (new) then ended up installing the old one because the crap you buy the welds leak big time.

Post back on how it went and any issues, we kind of like that feedback and it helps new people trying it the first time.

Good to know bout the t stat o rings. Might have to put it off for a day to get the new t stat. Il see if he wants to go with the up grade with the duel pully. Can you specify on the block plugs?

Yes and you also have to cut the alternator mounting bracket.
