power window fuse
i have a 02 mountaineer and the fuse keeps popping for the power windows and my radio. i took it to the ford dealer and paid for them to diag it once they said it was just a fuse and replaced it but its happening every 2-3days after i replace the fuse. is this a common problem or where should i start looking myself
Which fuse is blowing? The 2002 Mountaineer power windows use a 30 amp circuit breaker, and that 30 amp breaker gets power from a 60 amp fuse in the battery junction box. Are you blowing the 60 amp fuse? The GEM module controls the Accessory Delay Relay which will power the radio and the power windows when the key is On as well as after the key is turned off until a door is open or the exit delay times out. The relay coil is powered by 15-amp fuse F2.17 in the Central Junction Box. Is this fuse the one that's blowing?

Fuse F2.17 feeds a whole lot of stuff. First up are the Accessory Delay Relay and the Battery Saver Relay. The Acc Delay Relay allows the windows and radio to continue to work for a short time after the key is removed. The relay is controlled by the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) and powers the power windows and the audio unit.
The Battery Saver Relay is triggered by the GEM and controls a lot more items and is probably where your focus should be. Powered by the Batt Saver Relay are:
