Did you install a charging cable upgrade with the new alternator? I am about to order the same one but I was gonna hook it up to the OEM cables. Anyone think the cable upgrade is necessary?
DVLDOG, since you aren't really pulling any major power, you will be ok with the stock wiring. However, bigger wiring could only secure your thoughts that you are getting the power to where it is needed with ease.
I have their xp390. They say that it's really like a 500 amp alt because their tester doesn't go that high. On a regular basis, I am pulling about 240 amps. With that alt, and all 5 batteries, my voltage rarely ever goes below 13.7. When I am at a cruising speed with everything off, all 5 batteries are running at 15.1 volts.
I started out with their dual 175 amp alt kit. It was great kit and is sitting in my garage now. And works perfectly. I just outgrew it and needed more. I am trying to work it out so I can have dual xp390's. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.. GREAT CHOICE. THEY ARE GREAT GUYS OVER THERE.
