Rounding the final corner on a full '66 F250 restoration and can't decide between about 1/2 dozen different tints of green paint. We're looking to buy rattlecan samples BUT DON'T WANNA SPEND A FORTUNE ON SAMPLES. Cheapest we've found so far is $20/12 oz. can (at automotivetouchup.com) - anyone know where we can buy samples for less? Thanks!
Rattle can paint will be different than paint made for spraying with air sprayers. Even though its the same paint (local paint shops can make them for you as well) it sprays totally different. Especially if its metallic paints. Better option would be to get paints that you could brush a small sample of. Also keep in mind when looking at paints, to look at them under differernt light sources. Some paints look totally different in the sun compared to flourescent lights in a garage.
One place to check for paints to mess around with are body shops. They have to buy paints (unless they mix their own) in pints, quarts or gallon sizes. Place I used to work at, we had 4 shelves floor to ceiling with left over paints. Might be able to find your colors their and for cheap if they want to clean house a little.
