idle problems
I have a problem with my Idle of my Ford Ranger 1998 3.0 liter. It idles high when ever I start it, weather or not it is cold or hot. When I come up to a stop light and stop, it idles high for a second then when I stop, in a few seconds it idles down to about 800rpms. Why does this idle not kick down like normal. The truck seems to idle fine when stopped, but high if the wheels are turning.

I had the same problem with my truck, And i did everything to find out why it did that, So check and clean ur IACV valve on ur intake manifold, But that didnt do it for me, what i realise was that i always left my vents open for the A C or heater and never thought anything of it untell i turn the vent OFF, Then walla it stopd, So give those two a try and if it still dosnt work then just unplug the valve, its a electrical connector. And then it will idol nice and low, but it may die on you and when u worm it up ulll have to stay on the gas to worm it up befor u drive. So just them ideas a try
