Instrument Cluster problem

Has anyone had any problems with their instrument panel control cluster. Mine needs to be replaced, and the dealer informed me that the part is on back order. It may take some time to get a new one. The service manager informed me that they were replacing a lot of them, but Ford denies that there is a problem. I have a 2002 4x4 F-250 Crew Cab, 5.4 V8.

I started my truck on Sunday and smelled a strong odor of electrical burning. I quickly shut it off,but could not find anything obvious. Instrument Cluster problem

I have had several in mine. The origional was replaced when it was converted from Canadian to American, then that one had the tach sitting at 0 when idling, that one was replaced and the new one had a fuel guage problem, that one was replaced with a new one, that also had a problem, but I don't remember what was wrong with that one, that was replaced with a new one that also had a fuel guage problem, so it was replaced with a new one, which is currently not having any problems. So, that make #6.
