Yet another tires thread/question.

Sorry guys, I've searched through the threads but got a little overwhelmed with the info on wheels and tires. I'm putting fresh paint on my truck next week and want to add new rubber as well.
I have the original wheels, but looks like hubcaps from a pontiac or something! I'm planning on painting the rims white and ordered the bottle cap hub caps..

My question is about tires. I need to get new tires and want white walls. I know it's not neccessarily original, but man, I love that look. Wanting nice thick white walls!

I have manual steering though and don't want wide wheels that make steering a daily workout..

Can anyone suggest a good tire size that's ridiculously skinny, but also not to wide for my manual steering and perhaps vendor where I can order a new set of white walls for my old girl?

THanks,

Matt

Originally was about a 7.75x 15 tire. Not too wide a whitewall, especially if you are running white wheels. Probably like this '64.

Note the Divco milk truck out on it's daily deliveries in the far background!

Yeah, I was thinking about the white wall, white wheel thing also. Maybe I should go with the turqoise (however it's spelled) wheels, chrome cap, white wall tires.. hmmm.

Thanks for the size help. I think those look perfect for what I want.

I thought about whitewalls, But I'm too cheap.... There is a company here in Chattanooga that's got all kinds of great tires for older vehicles-

Coker Tire - Your Source for Antique Tires and Wheels

I thought about these- with 1.3" whitewalls-

American Classic 1.3 Inch Whitewall - 215/75R15

But, I can use that money for other, more pressing projects!
