I was wondering ..........

I was wondering what pump turned on under the hood? I recently finally towed with my truck and when i plugged up the trailer with tailer brakes my running light did not work on the trailer. So i traced it down to a fuse under the hood i replaced the fuse and a pump starting pumping under the hood but it was dark and late at night so i did not investage. What is the pump and how long has it not been working? thanks

It was probably your vacuum pump. It is located on the passenger side behind your battery.

what would the vacumn pump be used for? heater box controls ? i have manual hubs.

I'm not sure of all of the functions, but I know it controls the AutoHubs (if equip) and the blower motor, ie, Floor, Vents, Defrost.
