6.8 triton idle problems

This website has been great, have been reading a lot of the posts and very good info.

I have a 1999 f350 4x4 with a 6.8 triton v10. Ford installed a new ford engine two years ago, and i've only drove it about 15 000 km since but have had it parked for the last 1 1/2 year, so warranty is expired (40,000km or two years).

Went to use the truck now and now its having idling and surging issues when truck is in gear and at low idle. Runs good at highway speed.
The check engine light is on too.
I read through a few threads, and so i cleaned the iac valve, with no effect, so i changed the iac valve and gasket and still have same problem.

Then I noticed that after the truck is running and I shut it off, there is a buzzing/gurgling sound coming from the egr valve.
Is that sound normal, or is it possible the egr valve is toast and causing the idling issues?

You really need to pull the codes triggering your CEL and post them here---that's the best way to get some input!

Hmmm....is it your EGR valve stuck open just a tad allowing exhaust gases to get into the intake thus choking your engine? At highway speeds (higher RPMs), it doesn't affect it. EGR suppose to keep combustion chamber temps down to prevent NO buildup. That's what I learned about EGR anyway.
