have a 2000 ford excursion, had an oil leak on hpop, reseal gasket now truck won't start;checked low side oil pressure-good checked fuel pressure-good,using solus when cranking ipr reads 2200 psi with icp sensor unplugged, hook up gauge at icp sensor ,only reads 80psi,does anyone have any ideas, please help
Welcome to FTE. You can't use readings from the ICP if the sensor is unplugged. You'll only get values based on a pre-programmed table stored in the PCM memory. What pressure do you see with the ICP plugged in? Does it also show less than 100 psi?
Which seal or gasket on the HPOP did you replace? Did you remove the HPOP to do it?
Just to clarify, you did make sure the teeth were lined up and the HPOP gear is fully seated? You've got the bolt holding the HPOP gear torqued down tight enough?
Is there any chance you bumped or damaged the IPR when you pulled the HPOP? Tin nut still snug on the back of the IPR? IPR wires are not chaffed or have brittle insulation? Does the IPR duty cycle % increase up to around 65% while cranking?
The pumps almost never just suddenly go bad like you're describing. When they do it's usually from obvious reasons like the back plate coming off and the guts falling out, or someone removing the end plug and losing the little ball that was inside.
So you've got a no start with 2 different IPR's, or did you change that when the pump was out?
