Yes, Ford. And suprisingly, they aren't an arm and a leg. About $40 IIRC.

I'll try to get the part # for you.

ps- I doubled up -all- the coil springs inside my ZF by using
"high compression" springs from a Brownell's spring pack...

...by just slipping them inside the originals since the twist
was in the opposite direction.

Ya know I was considering that today. I'm a gunsmith among other things and hove drawers full of different gun springs. They are the same size and compression rate as a m1 garand ejector spring. I have hundreds of those. Just need to cut them down some. I just ordered a spring and dog kit though. It was cheap.

I saw that pic of yours when I was looking for a place to buy the parts. I'm throwing my two case halves in the dishwasher tomorrow while my wife is at work! I already checked and they will fit.
It looks like you had a lot of fun with that one. You still married?

Oh, ya think those new mainshaft bearings will have to be shimmed? I hope not. I have the wrong type of puller for pulling them back off in one piece. Same as yours there just bigger.

FiNgured as much with the lathe and all or at least familiar enough
with gun stuff to know exactly what spring kit I was talking about. :)

NO. 71 COMPRESSION GUN SPRINGS - Brownells

Be careful with that, the alkaline/caustic nature of the -automatic-
dish washing soap will etch/attack the aluminum and might not be
so good for it in the long run? :/

Oh, ya think those new mainshaft bearings will have to be shimmed?
Yep. :)
Betcha.
Mine did and still do! LOL :)
That's a big part of why I want to take mine apart again.
I'm going to get help/advice locally before I slap the "Loctite 518"
to it tho. ;)

{Edit: Just realized, since you replaced your bearings with new ones,
I'm not so sure yours will need shimming so bad as mine. How's it act
when fitting the case halves together? Is there a space the bolts will
have to squeeze together?}

I hope not. I have the wrong type of puller for pulling them back off

Oh, because you got it back together, you mean this bearing...

...and the one on the other end too?

But what about the bearings on either end of the cluster gear?
Ever get them off? If so, how'd you do that? :)

Did you ruin the retainer/snap ring like I did... ?

...the small rusty one is off a motorcycle's rear hub.
The gold one has been ground down to fit and it's from Ace
Hardware. LOL :) Seems like it was it 2+1/4"??

You still married?
Not since '96 and never again.
She packed her$#%N left! LOL :)
Yeeee Haaaaw! :)

She had to tho, pretty bad case of Borderline Personality Disorder.
Needed to leave everything behind including our kids. Not her fault
her brain chemistry was messed up! :/ Her and my two boys, if not
geniuses are real close to it. She kicked-school-butt after I got 'er
on brain medicine tho! :)

Any one of them can think circles around my dumb@&. :/

I haven't put the case back together yet. Had to order those springs and stuff yesterday. They will probably be here by friday. I also ordered a shim kit just in case. I'll go buy the right puller I guess if I have to.
