EFI conversion question

I'm looking at converting my 78 F-250 w/ 460 to EFI with a FAST EZ EFI kit. My question is, how can I retain the use of my dual tanks with the return style/electric pump fuel system required for EFI? Does my stock fuel system have a return now? If not, I'm assuming I'll need a tank switching valve with return ports? How would I add a return port to the tank pickup? Would I need two fuel pumps, or can one work? Could I just do away with the switching valve and plumb the two tanks together to act as one large tank? I know it's a lot of questions but I'm just trying to go over my options.

I'm thinking of going FAST EZ EFI on my 70..

1. Your stock system does not have a return;
2. Assuming each tank is selectable, each return line needs to have a switched valve so that the tank in use is returned the over-volume of fuel. If the switching valve is removed, then it can function with one return line.
3. One pump is all you need. The pump mounts close to the tanks so it is a pusher. Each tank is plumbed to each side of the selector valve and then to the single fuel pump.
4. Yes, you can simulate one large tank by removing the switching valve.

I've been told that if I use one pump, the rear tank will be too far from the pump?

How would I go about plumbing the tanks together as one and doing away with the switching valve?

How would I add a return line to the tanks?

The pump should be roughly plumbed somewhere in the middle from each tank.

Remove the switching valve plumb a T fitting.

Remove the sender from each tank and braze a return tube. Each return needs to be oriented away from the intake to avoid air bubbles from getting sucked into it.

With any electric fuel pump, it should be wired thru an impact switch and relay so it will shut off in the event of an accident.
